Lonely Planet

Branding Redesign Project - 2017

Client

Lonely Planet, a travel guide publisher

Design Duration

This design took me 12 weeks. I spent a lot of time tweaking the new logo to create a more contemporary feeling.

Design Tool

Adobe Illustrator and Indesign for designing branding part

Lonely Planet project is a branding redesign based on the real working environment. According to the research, the company philology is to encourage the reader to makes their own decision by looking at other people’s experience. Therefore, the keyword “share” is used for the whole design. The original colour blue is continuously used in this design. But a more contemporary and geometrical style is added to the new design.

Moreover, a sub-brand for kids is created in this project. A special campaign for autism children is promoted under this project. This is a good opportunity to show the idea of sharing. This campaign is based on a series of videos and guide to help autistic children and their parents to know where they are going. The aim is to help autism children feel safe enough for their trip. It can help them to get along with the people around them. Meanwhile, it helps to reduce the parents' pressure during the trip with autism children.
